Really pleased to win Think Tanker of the Year at the Smart Thinking Awards. Big thanks to @ce_pickles and @stkaye for taking a chance on hiring me in the first place. It’s been a wild two years in wonk land at @restate_thinks!
To present think tanker of the year, former Lord Chancellor David Gauke morphs into the absent Chris Curtis Gauke: “I’ve ended up as a Labour MP” “No surprise!” cries one heckler Gong goes to @jo3hill of Re:State

It was a pleasure to write this blog for @ChildrensComm reflecting on the reading achievements of our pupils @Reachhanworthpk. We are building a culture where loving to read is the norm and where our pupils see reading as key to their future success.
"Reading the same novel at home has pupils excited to discuss it at school" Today's guest blog comes from Lily Staff, English Lead at Reach Academy Hanworth Park, who reflects on the success of the school's reading programme. https://t.co/RV02WqQRT0

Look at this video of our children talking about the books they love! ALL our children now love reading but only 36% of them were reading at or above their chronological reading age in Sept! One of the major successes of this founding year! https://t.co/PLki1zSbig

3. Prioritising disciplinary literacy: all our staff have been committed to teaching reading and writing this year. Our reading routines, comprehension strategies and explicit teaching of vocabulary are consistent across the school.

Hear from @staff_lily1 about the amazing progress our children are making in their reading. So many came to us saying they never read. Each now are reading 3 books independently & talk about them constantly. A really special culture of reading for pleasure
