And last but not the least this study shows that in this case confocal TCSPC provides the more reliable data needed to study response kinetics. 14/n.

The practice that recipes are kept secret and kits are offered as black-boxes solely for commercial benefit is simply not in accordance with good scientific practice which aims at a full, exact and reproducible description of experiments. 13/n.

These data also strongly emphasize the crucial importance of exact knowledge on the molecular composition of reagents, buffers and media. 12/n.

Subtle phototoxicity effects, even though invisible morphologically, can still alter kinetic and dynamic responses of cells and thus, biological outcome. 11/n.

All in all, this study should caution researchers who perform live-cell time-lapse experiments to be aware about sample health, phototoxicity and image acquisition routines. 10/n.

Luckily, these effects can be taken care of by spiking in some some Ascorbic Acid in your imaging medium. 9/n.

Thus, we had to resort to extensive mass spectrometry analysis to reveal that the presence of Folic Acid(Vitamin B9) in FB medium can also inactivate all three β-receptor agonists under the influence of blue light, via ROS formation. 8/n.

We contacted @GIBCO @thermofisher to know what was it then in their medium that was affecting our experiments. We were asked to sign a NDA for them to tell us the contents of the medium🙂 7/n.
