@sonningcutting @networkrail And it's all because they chopped down all the trees. The tree roots were binding the embankment together. It was designed that way by Ismbard Kingdom Brunel in the 1860's and it lasted with no landslides until 2024, after all the trees were chopped down by @networkrail

The GWR's Twyford Station at some point in the Edwardian period. The first section of the GWR main line opened on 1 July 1839, Twyford being its end point. It remained a terminus until the line to Reading was opened on 30 March 1840, pending the completion of the Sonning Cutting.
