Auto & taxi drivers forgetting that they are the permit holders handed over control to fare brokers. Customers fed up with driver unprofessionalism also got snared in fare broker games. We must now support Shanta Gowda's sincere efforts, Bengaluru. https://t.co/Vebn7LOkz1

The Independent Auditor noted in 2021-22 that BMRCL was in MOU breach for not recognising forex gain/loss. BMRCL response? Wishy-washy. Only when MoHUA "communicated" in 2023-24, it started recognising forex. Bengaluru pays unfair high fares. Where is BMRCL accountability?

All BMRCL borrowings are foreign currency denominated. Except for JICA, it's ADB, AFD, AIIB, EIB and KfW loans are all at floating interest rate. BMRCL does not have any hedging instruments to cover forex risk. 2024/25 P&L shows 256 crs as the cost impact of INR depreciation

Vijay Mallya is celebrating his 70th birthday. How many in Bengaluru know that had his company UB Transit System Ltd & GoK agreed on transit oriented development principles, Bengaluru would have seen the metro (it was called ELRTS) much earlier in 2000? https://t.co/TH3nFLhgQS

In June'26, BMRCL starts repayment of USDš²denominated ADB loan that funds Ph-2a & 2b. [around 150 crs annual outgo] But in June'26, not a single rupee will accrue from Ph-2a & 2b new commuters. Then who will fund the repayment? We, the gullible current Bengaluru commuters.

Dear @krishnabgowda , BMRCL must publish revised Ph 2a & 2b costs. This is required for State Govt. to fund cost escalation due to BMRCL's unmatched efficiency. Meanwhile BMRCL has conned citizens to pay unfair high fares to cover cost of delays. To whom is BMRCL accountable?

Absolutely no accountability. Earlier this year, BMRCL perversely interpreted the fare formula. Result? Bengaluru commuters continue to pay 32% extra fare. This is a challenge to Bengaluru politicians. Can they make BMRCL accountable for their actions?
An important portion of Kamaraj Road remains blocked, five years and counting. āJust 15 more days,ā @OfficialBMRCL says. Thatās after New Yearās celebrations? Perfect timing for a road that could ease year-end traffic congestion

In a written reply to the Assembly, GoK claims that it held public consultation on 9/10/2023. How is it possible when the Feasibility Study wasn't even commissioned? In other words, Govt admits that process was retrofitted to support the unwanted project. Bengaluru, wake up.

Without BMLTA Sec.19 approval this project cannot proceed. Not establishing BMLTA isn't a valid reason to bypass the statutory BMLTA Act provision. Govt.'s ill-advised adamancy must stop. It has pushed back metro & suburban rail projects. HC must hear the case expeditiously.
Bengaluru Tunnel Road project: DCM @DKShivakumar said public consultation isnāt statutory, though meetings were held in Oct 2023 & July 2024. A 4-member expert committee reviewed DPR, noting the estimate seems low, geological studies are minimal, and tunnelling is complex. Costs

BMRCL published it's 2024-25 Annual Report. But it has shied from explaining its record 71% unfair fare hike. Remember O&M costs increase was 40% since 2017. Except 2 MPs, no other MP/MLA have sought to hold BMRCL to account on the fare hike con. Why Bengaluru? #rollbackfares

Bengaluru mustn't err. A shift in perspective is required for the metro alignment here. Instead of extending metro to Tumakuru it should go along the PRR. @BDAOfficialGok - Don't make provision for a "future"metro on the PRR, but build it simultaneously along with the PRR.

This is an expensive joke. It will cost the city atleast 5 crs in a wasted & futile DPR. All it will achieve is: - Jack up real estate prices - Delay suburban rail BMRCL is having a jolly time leveraging State Govt v/s Central Govt priorities into inane activities.
āØš¢ Tumakuru Metro Update: BMRCL opened the bids submitted for preparation of DPR for Madavara to Tumkur line. Following 3 consultants have participated: 1⣠Aarvee Engineering Consultants Limited. 2⣠RITES Limited. 3⣠Capital Fortunes Pvt Ltd. While Aarvee Engineering

Dear @krishnabgowda , Thanks for standing with citizens suffering long BMRCL delays. Are you aware that the MoU requires the High Powered Committee (HPC) to meet atleast once a month to sort out issues? Are these HPC meetings held responsibly & regularly? #rollbackfares

Thank you @krishnabgowda for following up. The delay is also the reason for BMRCL manipulating the fare formula inputs & FFC allowed them to get away with 71% hike. [Note the O&M costs had increased only by 40%] Please instruct BMRCL to correct the fares & fix accountability.

Dear @BDAOfficialGok, Pls see the video illustration. Shows queue build-up when 3 lanes (proposed short tunnel road) merges with 2 lanes (proposed elevated road to Mekhri Circle). Just shifts congestion to Veterinary College from Hebbal. Not worth spending 2300 crs. Drop it.

BMRCL's 2024-25 Annual Report is eagerly awaited. Why? Because it must provide answers to why: - it used Delhi fare formula when actual O&M costs was available. - it chose 2016-17 as Base year. - it missed to deduct 2017 fare hike. Anything else, Bengaluru? #rollbackfares

BMRCL is a curious entity. It isn't a Central PSU or a State PSU. It calls itself a Board led entity. No Independent Directors on the Board. It's a Central & State Govt. JV Hence nobody takes responsibility to fix the unfair fare hike. Bengaluru citizens, will you though?

Bengaluru metro's FFC displayed callousness in considering reasonable citizen suggestions. Sample their responses: Request for senior citizen & disabled discount; it cites technology issues as barrier! Request for family tickets; it says it's already there for group of 25!

Now you know why 7 people die everyday on Mumbai locals due to overcrowding & trespassing. Mumbai local transports people in perpetual "super dense crush load" mode. Mumbai recently spent 13k crores on a car-only coastal Tunnel Road. Why are your priorities so wrong Mumbai?
