Trying to remember when I first saw people carrying water bottles everywhere. Growing up in the 60’s (in Florida) we were lucky if either of the 2 water fountains at our park worked or we’d find the nearest house and use their hose. Not saying it’s bad, but how did we survive?

I was just reminded of a story when I was in AAA. We were at a nice restaurant as a team for something reason , wearing sportcoats, etc. And one of our guys was filling the pockets of another player’s jacket with silverware from the table, and as we were leaving we told the

If a player is deliberately doing something to deceive an umpire into making an incorrect call, I believe that is tantamount to cheating and should be immediately remedied.
@T_Hates_Tweets @aarf29 @shegone03 @MLB @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @SliderDominate @slider_sinker Statcast framing runs saved looks at the strike percentage of a pitch, so if a player steals a bunch of strikes but also loses pitches, they'll be punished for that. They also highlight "shadow strike %", which is the % of pitches one ball in or out of the zone.

I received this motion for consideration today. Probably from a Mets fan. As a Circuit Court Judge I have a lot of authority. But if I grant this motion, it will effectively eliminate any future World Series. @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @iamrags @SliderDominate

Several years of AAA and Big League spring training was as far as I got. In '85 I pitched road games in every outing except 1, a home game against the NYY's. And 40 years later a buddy found this pic for sale on ebay.

Looking for some help. This guy is in the Uber Eats commercial with Bradley Cooper. I know I’ve seen him in a bunch of other things, but it’s driving me crazy. Can anybody tell me who this is?

After 60 yrs my HS selected 6 members to it's inaugural class for it's HOF. I was surprised to be selected with 5 distinguished alumni. A sitting US Congresswoman, The Mayer of Tampa, Co-Founder of Archer Aviation, a GM for an NFL team & the President of the Univ. of S. Florida.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mike Greenwell. My former teammate in Pawtucket in 1984. A story that I’ll always remember is when I told him how fast I was and actually pinched ran when I was with the Indians organization. He kind of called me out on that so I said I’d race

I’ll tell you a Southern League All Star story. ‘82 the league only picked one team of All-Stars because we played the Atlanta Braves in an exhibition game in Rickwood Stadium, Birmingham. Tom Kelly, the Orlando Twins skipper was our manager. Every pitcher on the team wanted to
Today's #MiLBCoD is another greatest hit, because I'm hanging a ceiling fan this morning. 1986 Southern League All-Star Set Card 10, Huntsville Stars (now @BiloxiShuckers) Terry Steinback. 2 Flap helmet alert. RPs appreciated.

I was fortunate to be playing for the Bisons when they filmed this movie at our stadium. One of my favorite quotes from the movie is: “Pop: You know my mama wanted me to be a farmer. Hobbs: My dad wanted me to be a baseball player.”

I use to tell myself, Don’t try to throw hard. Throw fast. Trying to throw hard led to muscling up and over throwing. Staying under control. Slow it down. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

My first professional start in was in Burlington, Iowa 1978. We stayed at the hotel Burlington built in 1910. It seemed to me to have all original items that were there when they built it. Apparently two years later it went into receivership. I had nothing to do with it.
Today's #MiLBCoD is 1988 ProCards Sumter Braves Teddy Williams. He topped out the next season in A ball with Burlington. He never quite hit .400. Still splendid. Tell me your favorite story about the player, team, ballpark, etc. Especially if it's Minor League. RPs appreciated.

This is 100% right. And it’s only getting worse with the way they teach velocity over pitching.
Curt Schilling / Paul Skenes Frame Lapse Mechanics Comp* Re: @gehrig38's concern w/PS needing to create extension & finish 2 callouts: - After glove/hand separation, CS leading w/heel (staying over rubber), PS does not LWH - CS w/flat back at finish, product of extension vs.

Clif told me a great story about trying to buy a car after he was drafted in the 1st rd by the Mets in 74. He walked into a dealer to buy a fancy sports car, wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt and they wouldn’t even talk to him. So he went down the road and paid cash for Harley
#OTD in 1985, Cliff Speck threw a complete game shutout in #Buffalo’s 2-0 win over the Louisville Red Birds. #Bisons
