Answers: Chris Bando, Joe Carter, Carmelo Castillo, Julio Franco, Mel Hall, Brook Jacoby, and Pat Tabler. ⚾️.
Only seven players appeared for both the 1985 and 1988 Indians: Switch-hitting backup catcher. High RBI outfielder, a little first base. D.R. corner/fourth outfielder. Shortstop moved to second in 1988. Lefty left fielder currently in prison. Third base. First base/DH. Go! ⚾️.

Here's the Twins starting center fielder for that day, 42 years and some months later but not too far away geographically, reminiscing how he got a base hit up the middle in the first inning off Bill Travers, leading to a run, in his team's 6-4 win. ⚾️.
We met Mickey Hatcher at Whitter College last night. He came to give a talk in a packed Villalobos Hall in support of their Institute for Baseball Studies, then hung around for a bit chatting with fans. ⚾️

How much more of this do we have to see before people will admit MLB players regularly screw up all aspects of baseball except for blowing out their arms throwing hard, striking out, and hitting home runs? ⚾️.
Bottom of the tenth, zombie on second, tied, no outs, 2-0 count, batter bunts along the first base line. It goes only a few feet. Dodgers catcher Will Smith stands over it, could easily make an out, but stupidly watches it roll hoping it goes foul. It doesn't. Dodgers lost. ⚾️.

Seems we don't talk about the 1938 Cubs enough! Here, with a month left, they were 6.5 GB the Pirates and tied with the Giants for second. They won this day, then went 21-7 from there (including 5-0 vs. Pittsburgh, and 2-0 vs. New York) to win the pennant! ⚾️.

Yes, the Rockies pretty much have to go 43-0 from here. 42-1 could work too. And the Dodgers and Padres must lose games at a rate never before seen in the majors (like a team that's 15-147 for the season), while the others do horribly too. But the chance isn't zero! ⚾️.
The Rockies are still alive in the N.L. West race for first place! They won; Dodgers lost. Rockies have 88 losses. It's still possible for all other N.L. West teams to finish with 90 or 91 losses, even with the Dodgers and Padres to face off in six more games. Go Rockies! ⚾️.

Not good. The Padres are now up 5-1, and the Dodgers just took a 6-5 lead over the Angels in the ninth after being tied for so long. ⚾.
Low and outside is closely monitoring the fight by the Rockies to stay alive in the N.L. West race. They shut out the Cardinals today! The Padres are winning, though. Dodgers tied with the Angels. Stay tuned! ⚾.

This should be allowed. It's part of the game. And it's absurd that Little League declares that "unsportsmanlike" but the ridiculous celebrations the kids do on the field, showing up their opponents and mocking the game, are just fine. ⚾️.
Little League deems sign stealing, even by players just peeking in (not using technology) as "unsportsmanlike". We saw them halting the game to address it a few times in their big championship tournament last week. What do you think of that? ⚾️.

Brooklyn was too far behind already, but the Cubs were 11.5 GB with about 15 left in the 140-game season, fighting for their life! Pittsburgh was in first, the Giants 8 GB in second. The famous Tinker was out this week for some reason, as was regular right fielder Dick Harley. ⚾️.
