For most of human history, the sky was your clock, compass, and map — In the era of modern science, that's more true than ever as we probe the universe and define our units based on its laws and observed contents https://t.co/iR1trG5ZU1 We are the light pushing out now

Truly outlandish. Some places in Europe didn't just record their warmest February on record.... They went on to beat their warmest MARCH temperature levels. [THREAD]

I really worry about Canada. There's a trillion dollar race in to attract investment for the clean energy transition and instead of embracing it, we are missing the boat because of our obsession with oil & gas. The money will go elsewhere folks. It already is.

@KevinClimate »Countries make various promises about what they are going to do against climate change. These promises are a disaster and still overly optimistic because they only rely on future generations, our children and grandchildren to develop technologies that we don’t have today.« 🧵3/8

Far too much lobbying of government by oil and gas. Hard to believe that the time of politicians, political staff and public servants is best spent this way.
Just your average day for Natural Resources Canada @NRCan with FOUR meetings in ONE day with fossil fuel lobbyists (Honourable mentions to @PrivyCouncilCA, @environmentca, @FinanceCanada) @FedLobBot

The Cosmic Future is happening @thejunaverse
Your order was delivered… to the Moon! 📦 @Int_Machines' uncrewed lunar lander landed at 6:23pm ET (2323 UTC), bringing NASA science to the Moon's surface. These instruments will prepare us for future human exploration of the Moon under #Artemis.

The fossil fuel industry has damaged Canada to the point that the country has begun to burn year-round. For a decent future we must abolish fossil fuels

I've said it before, will again: Leash your dog. I have covered horrific dog attacks and EVERY SINGLE TIME the owner says a variation of "I never thought my dog would ..." Toronto has a lot of off-leash parks. You have no excuse.
A Toronto woman was left with life-altering injuries after being attacked by two off-leash dogs in Etobicoke. Can you take legal action if you've been bitten? Faced with a dog attack, here's how to protect yourself and your furry family member.

Putin tried and failed to murder Navalny quickly and secretly with poison, and now he has murdered him slowly and publicly in prison. He was killed for exposing Putin and his mafia as the crooks and thieves they are. My thoughts are with the brave man's wife and children.

Putin is a coward who murders his critics because he knows that if given a free choice his fellow citizens would never elect him and his obsolete Cold War spook cronies to power

If we want a prosperous and safe future there is no choice but to abolish fossil fuels
The climate breakdown is happening all around us. There is no way to increase fossil fuel production and ensure a liveable planet for our children. Exxon knew this forty years ago. It is time for us to accept this reality today. BillC372 https://t.co/D4KJa99AjS

For decades, big oil has been lying about the benefits of their products, about how much they pollute, and about their plans to pollute less. Bill #C372, introduced by @CharlieAngusNDP, will ban their lies and the promotion of products that are making us sick

Maybe we shouldn't have let telecom giants buy up all of Canada's media, only to toss journalists to the curb when things got tough.

It is past time to stop investing in all fossil fuel projects globally
Once a key driver of index returns and economic growth, the fossil fuel industry has shrunk to become a marginal player in major indices, making #fossilfuels an increasingly risky and speculative part of passive equity portfolios. More in our new report: https://t.co/BEVmbWwPXp

There are huge health co-benefits to global fossil fuel abolition
This is a big freaking deal: The EPA’s new soot pollution standard is expected to save an estimated 4,500 lives and deliver $46 billion in health benefits in 2032. Good work @EPA, @POTUS, and @EPAMichaelRegan. Keep it coming! #SolutionsForPollution

The University of North Carolina Greensboro has dissolved the Physics & Astronomy department. A major pillar of science education at that university is gone. I have no words. My heart goes out to my friends and colleagues.
