I went to a party last night.
Here's how we reduced the

- we all wear masks in public spaces and at work
- we planned well in advance and monitored our health
- we use Enovid
- we met on an outdoor, heated patio and we measured the ventilation
- we put on

Is it a coincidence that the world experiences a pandemic for which a dominant effect is brain damage, and then we start thinking that it would be a good idea to go back to a time when child labour, unpasturized milk, legalized hate, and denial of access to health care were a

That I have to buy the filtration tools necessary to keep my graduate students healthier is unacceptable.
That I would refuse to do it is unimaginable.
Here’s what’s coming to my lab very soon.
This whole 'living in fear' narrative needs to stop.
Living in fear is about rejecting the current state of a changing situation. Symptoms include refusing to be cautious, harming others, or shutting down completely.
Living informed, is taking into consideration what is
So wonderful to know that there are still people keeping themselves and each other healthier.

Here's how:
1) Discussed Covid with colleagues involved
2) Tested regularly
3) Wore a mask when new colleagues joined the meetings and in public indoor spaces
Extra facts:
Daycare cancelled last minute
We both teach at exactly the same time, so handoff isn’t possible
We were both totally prepared to end class early should it be necessary.
We both teach large lower year courses with no flexibility to cancel and hope to catch up.
If your colleagues:
1) know that you’re not comfortable being in an indoor space with them unmasked,
And,
2) choose to not wear a mask to department meetings,
Take it personally

Hi folks. I can't keep up with the comments anymore. Most of them are hateful with antisemitic or transphobic or ableist comments. I've tried to hide and block most of them but it's running its course now. I'm still going to monitor DMs for those looking for evidence-based info.

No. You don’t get to say that. No one disagrees that building more homes is necessary, but our anger isn’t about that. You sold Ontarians out to your buddies. That’s unacceptable.
