How do complex system evolve new functions ? Our work in @Nature shows that interactions between immune cell types facilitate the evolution of immune traits! Good engineering is modular - so is immunity, with cells as modules Read it https://t.co/4vUwERDccQ

A new approach to constructing highly stretchable conducting polymers paves the way for the creation of precise bioelectronic devices capable of electronic monitoring of delicate living tissues, researchers report in Science. https://t.co/Q8kUTbWrM9

Crowdsourcing impact factor of a work ..what next?
Preprints are great... in theory. They get science out fast and without paywalls. But what good is a free archive of all scientific knowledge without journals to tell you which papers are worth your time, and without impact factors to tell you who to hire?

The expectations from a concert of a band you love are the exact opposite of those from a scientific seminar. You don't want to hear any unpublished stuff, you *do* want to hear what they published a decade ago

what I learned after a year of immunology school: every cell is an immune cell every disease is an inflammatory disease it is absolutely impossible to decide what to study during a PhD because everything is interesting!!!

@hippopedoid @GCLinderman @EtienneBecht @NatureBiotech Perhaps we can agree that neither t-SNE nor UMAP should be called “analysis tools”. They are mostly automated paint brushes that will draw the data according to whatever interpretation you want (aka “initialization”).

The nerd version of this: I still have my Commodore 64 and all its floppy discs with games. Perhaps my kids will want to play a cool game of Archon or Impossible Mission. https://t.co/oKnicLJ0AE

How dumb is it to save toys from my childhood in the hopes that a future small family member will play with them? Kids can't tell things are old, right??? Can't bear to throw some of this stuff out 😭
