I have several packages to publish and I'm honestly not looking forward to getting into this. And I also don't have the time to figure out what the fuck happened and what the fuck I have to do now.
The implementation of Trusted Publishing in the wake of the npm supply chain attacks? Going just great thanks 🫠

Today, I’m proud to announce Letted. It’s a platform that helps landlords run their properties. But that’s not the point of this post. A lot of people are betting against the UK. Moving to Dubai. Starting companies with Stripe Atlas. I understand why. But I’m not. I’m proud

more @bunjavascript gripes: I installed undici as a dependency today, only to have knip gripe about it being unused. turns out undici is a builtin. bun didn't warn about this when adding the package, and there's no easy-to-find documentation about what packages are builtins.

It's such a frequent need here that we have dedicated scripts so we can conveniently run it. So far @bunjavascript is a nice dev env, but its primary focus is a runtime whereas pnpm's primary focus is dependency management.

I'm at my first gig that uses bun for everything instead of node/tsx/pnpm. It's a fairly good-sized monorepo. The number of times per week that I have to remove node_modules and reinstall is just nuts. Twice already and it's Tuesday. I never had this kind of issue with pnpm.

The O'Saasy License is a great fit for folks who want to build a SaaS business, but run the project as open source, and allow anyone to self-host for free. If that's you, here's a dedicated site to grab a copy:
osaasy.dev
Basically... the MIT do-whatever-you-want license, but with the commercial rights for SaaS reserved for the copyright holder.

We just open-sourced pg_textsearch (permissive Postgres license). It's our Postgres extension that brings true BM25 ranking directly into Postgres. If you care about fast, relevance-ranked keyword search without leaving Postgres -- or hybrid retrieval by combining pg_textsearch

there are good programmers i followed before AI was a thing the way they use AI is pretty different than the people who are getting a following now specifically for how they use AI i know everyone is primed to think every tech shift flips the tables but i'm not betting on that
