unpopular opinion: offering AI compute for free is bad for the industry, and players like Google should stop doing it. It creates an unrealistic expectation that the models are actually cheap to run, and causes people to overuse compute on worthless tasks.

First time I have seen this, at least we didn't have to eat a chargeback fee . (The user reported fraudulently after using the service, sucks that there is still probably the other dispute fee since it's so unlikely to actually win)

this is the reality of LLMs "replacing engineers" - they're just enabling the tailor made software for one to a few people that no engineer was ever going to build any way. less platforms, more personal software. it doesn't have to be good or scalable, it just has to solve the.

Hate this too, but itās also an amazing filter when you spot it.
My least favorite thing about SF is how people are constantly sizing you up see how much they can gain by becoming your āfriendā. Assessing who you know, how you got into a party, where youāre from or where you live, as basis for whether or not you are worth even speaking to.
