When a government funding lapse can freeze updates at one of the largest biological databases, @NCBI, it shows how fragile centralized science infrastructure is. Databases shouldn’t pause with politics. Let’s hope and try to make the open-science infrastructure future-proof.

Ten basic lessons about tax. 1. Everyone pays tax. Income tax is not the only form of tax. If one rides a bus that crosses a toll plaza and pay tax which is included in the ticket cost, the passengers r paying tax. 2. Read point 1 nine more times.

I don't understand this logic.. My brother pays 30% tax to government. Bought home on loan. If he lose job..no gov will help him But his apartment watchman don't pay tax, but he got free house from gov, his wife gets free money from gov & free bus rides are we just their ATMs?

Journal submission portal: Select the REGION of ORIGIN of your PAPER👇 Me: Umm… why exactly? 🤔 To be honest - publishers know APCs from Asia, Africa & South America won’t match those from the West. That’s why they ask for our REGION💸. If the science is sound, does it matter
