people who can make connections between things laterally - ideas, other people, other organizations, etc, need to be hired. the interconnection points are what we are missing! what should these folks be called? Interconnectors?

Some good news: talked to a friend who works in infrastructure finance today. He reports that funding for new oil & gas projects is drying up in the US - even big companies can’t get funding from big banks.

What I learned at #ReFiSummit : 1. #ReFi is a small tribe laying foundation for a BIG market. There’s two intertwined goals: a) sell carbon assets to companies, so they can achieve their Net Zero targets & we can cool this smoking world & 2) make those assets REGENERATIVE [1/n]

1/Very sad to me that men at such large scale don’t feel valued. If you’re out there feeling this way: please know that there is at least one woman who has mythological admiration for your gender. Men do all kinds of crazy, wild, beautiful, simple, lovely things.

Folks are very frustrated that no ones listening about climate. But what if we’re not speaking their language? We have to articulate the action that needs to be done and explain how it’s going to produce results in terms people understand: money, efficiency, risk.

My friends, I am a person who will die at my desk or in the field doing all that I can to steward life on Earth. There’s so much doomerism and fear in our crowd, & while I can’t disagree that our view looks p bleak, it has a dampening effect on spirit. Cheerleading would help us.

@RizomaSchool @adamkotsko @csmaje The only people who would argue this are folks who have no familiarity with folks who live rurally. We discard the values of others because we don’t know anything about them. This is a vector that starts with disrespect and ends somewhere in human rights problems.

I’m really worried about what’s happening in the Yucatán, with the #TrenMaya project. It’s major deforestation in a carbon sink, on indigenous lands + UNESCO world heritage site, with amazing caves, 1000s of endangered animal species…and v little media coverage. Can we fix that?

Hot take on the @ToucanProtocol / @VerraStandards / @KlimaDAO low quality carbon asset debacle. The problem isn’t crypto: it’s the underlying system of production for carbon assets which is nearly nonexistent. Verra has done a good job of elevating good projects. (1)
