taking another class in this series on Thursday, till Sunday! excited to learn about all the tendons joints and bursas of the axial skeleton (spine hips skull).
hi from day 1 of a four-day bodywork class. about joints, bursas (gel-filled pouches in the body that protect body structures from friction), and tendons !

one thing I super appreciate about colleague @JamesMayfield_. he’s the first person I ever met with total conviction that he’s “living his purpose.” he storytold sometimes he’d feel crappy but then light up with energy bc he knew a client needed him to help with heartbreak, etc.

toying with summarizing this as. "feel your feelings to the extent that they can be met with actual resource". otherwise distraction and dissociation / repression are the move, actually. so long as underlying ~resource~ is being cultivated.
the thing with “feel your feelings” as advice is, it literally won’t help unless your inner or outer life circumstances are sufficiently different from when the feeling was originally repressed. it was unfelt for a reason. allowing it to feel-so-it-resolves is a whole art.

reposting this!! adrian is one of the most relationally-present people I've met and I'm excited to learn from him, I'll hopefully be in this class . I've described him as "he's a therapist but probably an energy healer honestly - around him, my feelings start to feel themselves".
I'm excited launch my new course! Bringing the most precious dimensions of healing I have discovered, into our world!. The Heart Between Us! Join my 7-week healing journey starting Aug 24, 2025. Register: #HealingJourney

I did come back for a real reason. mostly - the downside of the steadiness was that I felt isolated . but, I also felt real. here I feel extremely connected. but also sometimes pulled towards the un-real, and it’s a constant practice to come back to earth and depth.
in folk medicine it’s often said that too much exposure to wind and water - for example, living by the ocean - can bring about tempestuous moodiness in people . & now I’m wondering if social media is analogous. digital winds, digital waters - the ocean of the internet.

the part about “being pushed around by every whim of a zeitgeist” honestly resonates with me. when I lived in Asheville I found it so easy to live a life in touch with the bones of life . here - so many loud hype cycles that I don’t care about. but they are loud.
