This is so interesting!
A new type of typeface might be beneficial to neurodivergent readers! ๐คฏ It's called bionic reading โ the first few letters are bolded, making it easier for readers to glide through text and stay focused. (links in reply)

I just learned that the Mฤori word for autism is takiwatanga, โin his/her own time and spaceโ. Itโs such an empathic and gentle way to describe the condition Iโm trying to come to terms with.

#ThinkingClassroom Day 4: @saravdwerf 's Kobe slides followed by some classroom bonding (before we start curriculum on Monday) through @ChartyPartyGame . Loved hearing them get to know each other through some laughter.

Took our Inequality Escape Room outside during 2nd hour. Too bad we couldn't escape the heat so back in the classroom we went 3rd hour. 145th day of 100 degrees or more this year. Trying to figure out movement in the classroom right now is tough. #goawaysummer #iteachmath #MTBoS

The entire history of mathematics is about being slow and failing repeatedly. Also, everyone who ventured into this defeating labyrinth did so willingly. School math has been about speed and success with mandatory entry. Square peg meet round hole.

๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฏ I had a department head that taught AP Calc, computer programming AND Alg1.
Why is it common practice that the most effective Ts are placed in honors classes? Those Ts should be placed with the Ss that are in most need of a great teacher. On the flip side, ridiculous that new Ts get placed with students with the greatest needs. #equity #mtbos #iteachmath
