Are there any ADHDers here that actually THRIVE living in a big city? I'm visiting Chicago this week and I'm already overwhelmed 😭. I feel like city life would be so hard having a brain like mine!!.

I'll go!. - Nonverbal communication (like body language & microexpressions).- only like 3 days.- I watched a video of someone break down the facial expressions of Trump & Co. when talking about the Epstein Files & BOYY was it interesting.- The most important element is *Baseline*.

And I can't tell if I feel this way because I AM actually a weirdo. Or because I'm treated like I'm weird (possibly because I am). Or because I'm so self conscious about my weirdness (possibly because I've been treated like a weirdo (possibly because I am one)).

Whether you're dealing with physical pain/disability, mental health conditions, neurodivergence, or all of the above—I see you. 🫶. Medical burnout is REAL. It's okay to feel OVER IT. And it's okay to take a break, even if it seems like you haven't made much progress.

There’s research on this. ADHD makes us:. - underestimate task duration.- forget what matters when it matters.- struggle to prioritize. when your brain treats time like a suggestion, anything that's not an immediate reward feels like a pointless delay. Even if it’s for survival.

All the basic maintenance tasks that keep me alive feel like they’re interrupting the stuff I actually want to be doing. They're boring and hard to keep up with. Which sounds dramatic—until you remember that ADHD literally distorts how our brains perceive and experience time.

ADHD makes me feel like sleep is a waste of time. Not because I don’t need it—I absolutely do—but because it just feels pointless. Like hitting pause on a life I already feel behind in. & it’s not just sleep. Bathroom breaks? Showers? Meals? All inconvenient wastes of time. 🧵.

“ADHD just means you can’t focus.”. That's where you're wrong. We can focus. The problem is we don’t get to choose WHAT we focus on. Or when. Or for how long. It’s like someone else is holding the remote to our attention span, and they’re flipping channels at random.

Because it’s not that I don’t know the consequences of not watering them. Obviously I'm aware of how it works. But with ADHD, knowing HOW & WHY isn't equivalent to actually doing it. WANTING to do it isn’t the same as starting. Executive dysfunction doesn’t care if flowers die 🫠.

When I tell my husband, “thanks for watering the flowers!". He just kinda shrugs & says “well they’d die if I didn’t. ”. Like?? That’s all the motivation he needs??. No task paralysis, no dopamine calculus, no shame spiral, no color coded lists??. Just. LOGIC → ACTION. Wild.
