Marriage isn't simply the next step on the relationship ladder. It is a conscious commitment that your partner can rely on you, and knowing beyond any doubt that you can rely on them. Marriage takes work, absolutely. But I believe in working hard at work worth doing.

This was actually painful to read. How embarrassing for Fremont Unified. They literally looked parents & students in the face and said firewood combustion produces oxygen and cellulose products, not heat and light. 🤦♀️ https://t.co/7dthbGmqwv

The dispute centered on an honors chemistry exam. But what was really at stake, said parent Shilpa Viswanathan, was what was “right.”

Yesterday, I spoke to San Franciscans about a potential federal deployment in our city. I said then what I have said since taking office, that keeping San Franciscans safe is my top priority. Late last night, I received a phone call from the President of the United States. I

Rollet 2025 Fig 3b shows that the average upzoning raises FAR by 1.0, but only increases built FAR by 0.10 over ten years. Upshot: theoretical zoned capacity needs to be at least 10x bigger than the target amount of housing.

The changes that SF Blueprint want to Mayor Lurie's Family Zoning plan are designed to stop ALL new housing. This is classic NIMBY tactics - ideas that sound nice but are so out of touch with economic reality that nothing could be built.

Three ways we can make it work even better for families and SF.

The quote tweets and replies are heartwarming. Sorry, we’re no longer being cool about blatantly antisocial loser behavior

My dog was almost mauled by two pit bulls lazily leashed to a cheap and lightweight aluminum sidewalk table. When they charged, the table immediately fell over. Honestly thinking pit bulls should be banned in SF. They're a loaded gun. I was lucky to escape with my dog unhurt

Another way to say this is that SF's housing regulations force developers to seek higher profits
A builder shared their financing model with me and the SF-specifics costs and fees account for 28% of their total project cost. That means any project with less than a 35% return is completely impossible to build. SF's regulations make housing *more expensive*

Whoa, this probably halved the dirt bike problem overnight since it legitimately seems to be a handful of guys. If SFPD does this one more time, decent shot the dirt bike guys stop visiting SF at all.
If you live in San Francisco, you’ve seen it or heard it: large groups on dirt bikes and ATVs taking over our streets and sidewalks. They ride without licenses, ignore the law, and terrorize our communities. For years, it felt like the city couldn’t—or wouldn’t—stop it. Now we

For @TheArgumentMag, I wrote about how the theory of attention that underpinned the iPhone has failed, what that means, and what we should do about it. https://t.co/lUr9ZyS9tL

The "left" did not assassinate Charlie Kirk. The "right" did not assassinate Melissa Hortman and her husband. An individual did. Anyone claiming collective guilt is trying to manipulate you.

Feels like a good time to share this @JeremiahDJohns piece again. Political violence is anathema to everything we hold dear. Liberalism is a miracle that needs to be protected. https://t.co/JUr8o1KNzF

Over and over again the press tries to create controversy where none exists. The Family Zoning plan is supported by 74% of voters, yet the Chronicle uncritically repeats a Peskin operative saying the plan is “a politically fraught situation for [Lurie]”

An inflection point will arrive Thursday, when the planning commission considers the mayor’s plan for taller residential buildings on the north and west sides of the city.
