Just someone tired of fake people (almost made the mistake of calling them individuals, they're all the same...), having a brain hurts - try not having one.

In trials, SSRIs outperform placebo by a few points. In life, they outperform lobotomy by a hair.

BREAKING: Los Angeles County has just declared a STATE OF EMERGENCY over the federal ICE raids. Think about that. The county is literally declaring an emergency over what the federal government is doing. This is Trump‘s America.

The "presentation of depressive symptoms may have more to do with the situation than the person." Keller et al. (2007) found 88.1% of MDD episodes were linked to: 1. Grief 2. Romantic loss 3. Personal failure 4. Chronic stress 5. Health problems 6. Interpersonal conflict 7. Fear
Let’s bring back the Grief Exclusion. About a decade ago, the DSM-5 removed the "bereavement exclusion" for depression. Before, if symptoms started within 2 months of losing a loved one, and lacked severe features, it wasn’t clinical depression to avoid pathologizing grief. The

Psych drugs are a form of violence against the self. They are a way of smothering parts of the self that strive for recognition.

Much of what we now label as depression doesn’t stem from biological causes. Despite decades of research, evidence for biological origin of depression remains limited and contested. However, this perspective warrants caution. Consider the 1959 study by West & Dally of iproniazid

Women aren’t ‘choosing’ lovebombers. Lovebombing is designed to look like safety until it’s too late. That’s the entire point. Expecting women to detect deception on day one instead of expecting men to stop deceiving is the definition of ‘victim blaming’ and has nothing to do

There are endless unproven theories about how SSRIs 'work'. But any remotely experienced pracitioner should be able to see that the principle mechanism by which they 'work' (beyond placebo, confirmation bias & natural recovery over time) is by numbing one's total emotional life.

The backbone of realistic CPTSD recovery is becoming so safe & stable in our own identity-- the identity we choose, not that was chosen for us by our abusers & bullies-- that nobody's bullsh*t, past or present, can hijack our focus or energy. Not anymore, not ever again.
