New paper from the lab is on Biorxiv. In this tour de force Jing shows that transient exposure in development to pathogenic autoantibodies to the NMDAR cause long-lasting anatomic and behavioral defects in motor function. A ton of work from a big team!

It is with both sadness & excitement that I share that my lab will be moving to @SinaiBrain @IcahnMountSinai. I am grateful to everyone at @UCSFmac who has fostered my lab’s growth — because of their support I am able to start this new adventure & be closer to my NYC family (1/4)

Such sad news. I have such fond memories of John during my time in Virginia’s lab as a PhD student. We have been in touch sporadically over the years, most typically when he was proposing Virginia for awards so she received deserves recognition. He was so dedicated to her.
The Department mourns the loss of our esteemed colleague, mentor, and friend John Trojanowski, MD, PhD, one of the foremost pioneers in the field of neuroscience, neuropathology and neurodegenerative diseases: https://t.co/MhIYRCDaR9

We're so happy and grateful to see our PI highlighted in @eyolab's fantastic #BlackGlialResearchers initiative, among such a group of extremely talented researchers. More news on the lab's first glia-centric paper, led by @YajunXie, coming soon. Thank you for the recognition!
#BlackGlialResearchers-Day7: Meet Dr. Corey Harwell (@Harwell_Lab) who studies neurodevelopment with a focus on the molecular specification of diverse neural cells types from progenitor radial glial cells and the mechanisms of neuro-glia communication in the wiring of circuits.

Interesting work!
#LongCOVID frequently includes cognitive symptoms. Noting the clinical similarities between “chemo-fog” and “COVID-fog”, we asked whether there are also neurobiological similarities, in collaboration with Akiko Iwasaki’s @VirusesImmunity lab @YaleMed. 🧵
