Another preprint from the lab! We dive deeper into the septum, exploring its astrocyte diversity. The fantastic @YajunXie led this impressive project to answer a BIG question: is it nature or nurture for astrocyte specification? Take a look to find out!.

Here is the latest from the lab! Our first preprint since we moved to UCSF, but it has been in the works for some time - we first noticed this exciting phenotype (see Figure 1) almost seven years ago, and have been intrigued and fascinated by the septum ever since. .
I’m so excited to share the results of our long-running project. Wonder what happened when we (unexpectedly) removed Nkx2.1-lineage neurons from the lateral septum? Well, it started like that, then grew and grew… Here’s the pre-print - we look forward to any and all feedback!.

Huge congratulations to Dr. Simon! We are all really looking forward to having Rhiana join us for her postdoc - and to her upcoming (and fantastic!) paper as well. .
It finally happened. After 7 years, I'm finally a doctor 🥳 Many thanks to @gstuber for his wonderful mentorship over the years! I'm so excited to next start my postdoc over at the @Harwell_Lab in a couple months!!

4) Finally, at the same time but in session 686 - Neurogenesis and Differentiation, @miguel_turrero will present poster 686.10. He will be talking about the first septum project we started in the lab: a mouse model where an entire population of lateral septum neurons is missing!.

3) On Wednesday afternoon (1:00-5:00), we will have two more posters. Our phenomenal grad student, @Chris_M_Reid, will present in session 689 - Development and Brain Connectivity, poster 689.23. Ever wondered how many neuronal types there are in the lateral septum? Chris knows!.
