the idea this is a dunk when justice dems have always focused on upgrading safe blue seats not flipping republican ones is extremely 🥴
Quick question: How many candidates endorsed by Our Revolution or Justice Democrats, in the history of those organizations, have flipped a GOP congressional seat blue? (the answer is zero)

anyone downplaying behn’s overperformance in a special with *midterm-level turnout* is either in bad faith or doesn’t understand election dynamics. she improved the dem 2024 margin by 13 points. low-turnout specials swing more easily— this one looked more like 2022 and swung hard
One explanation for the smaller swing was turnout. Total turnout was about the same as in the 2022 midterms! Every other special has fallen well short of 2022. So the #TN07 electorate looked closer to a regular general electorate, which in this district meant more Republican.

Medicare for All is not only the morally right thing to do. It is also overwhelmingly supported by Democrats, Independents and Republicans. It’s time for the U.S. to join every other major country and guarantee health care as a human right.

obviously a 3-way NYC race with a lifelong dem running as an independent is going to shift the ideology numbers compared to clean D vs R races in VA and NJ — the memo is clearly in bad faith. the thing they don’t like to mention is zohran got 10% of trump voters to their 7%

medicare for all is +24 after voters hear arguments from both sides — and that’s *after* the first question already told them it would replace most private insurance
After Bernie Sanders's 2020 defeat, Medicare for All disappeared from political discourse almost overnight. But new polling shows that most Americans still support it, even if it means higher taxes: https://t.co/D3AwMpjQmk

the bill ackman response tweet is going to be longer than any tweet you’ve ever seen
🚨 Q: You're a billionaire...Would you be comfortable living in NYC under Zohran Mamdani? PRESIDENT TRUMP: Yeah. I would. I really would, ESPECIALLY after the meeting. We agree on a lot more than I would've thought. I want him to do a good job - and we'll help him do a good

one thing i do appreciate about trump is his incredibly random insistence that the word “groceries” is an old-fashioned term
Trump on Mamdani: "We had some interesting conversation and some of his ideas are really the same ideas that I have. But a big thing on cost. The new word is 'affordability.' Another word is just 'groceries.' It's sort of an old fashioned word but it's very accurate."

as always, ignore dfp primary polling at your own risk
NEW IL-09 poll with the Justice Coalition Action: Daniel Biss and Kat Abughazaleh are tied for first in the Democratic primary with 18% of the vote. Laura Fine trails in third with 10%, and all other candidates receive 6% or less of the vote.

dems had a net increase of 27 points in their job performance grade from their base during the shutdown — after the eight dems folded, they lost almost all of it
NEW: The government shutdown improved perceptions of the Democratic Party among its own voters. Democratic voters rated the party higher during the shutdown than after the last funding fight in March. However, their ratings declined slightly once the shutdown ended.

New polling from @OurHawaii808 @IndivisibleTeam @DataProgress shows Ed Case (HI-01) the most vulnerable he's ever been, and a real path to victory for a single challenger who can energize and unite voters under 45, progressives, and undecided voters.
Progressives are pushing new polling this AM in an effort to whittle down the field of challengers to Democratic Rep. Ed Case in HI-01, arguing his clearest path to victory is through a crowded primary. That and more in today's Score:
