There was so much confusion when I explained that there was only one Pacific Ocean yesterday. Kids are so used to seeing a flat map they didn’t realise the Earth is a sphere! They loved this activity tho

Absolute killer of my first half-term as Deputy, loved every minute getting to know the children and staff.

We had three different staff rooms and weren’t allowed to mix. Teachers don’t use the staff room for ‘a quiet drink’ at all. Most hardly use it full stop due to extra commitments during school day.

We create 5-a-day tasks for Maths and have now introduced them for English. We create them ourselves for each day but once they’re done you have them for the year! 😄

Hi Shona, no we don’t paper plan anymore. If I was doing it again, I’d do a 2D sticking activity first and ask the chn to make inferences based on the map e.g which continents are furthest apart, how many oceans etc. Then do this activity the next lesson to compare😃

As I got older my view changed, so many kids out there that need a good home, I think adoption would be the way forward for me. I’d love kids 🥺

Absolutely, I think work in a school with a SEND focus would also be beneficial. It would allow us to properly support these children, many of whom I do my best to support, but seeing routine etc in practise would be so helpful for mainstream teachers 😃
