⚠️ "First Past the Post is not sustainable; not for Labour, and not for the country. We must modernise Westminster and launch a National Commission on Electoral Reform." 🌹 Excellent article for @thefabians by @steveracemp #Labour4PR

Last July, Labour inherited one of the worst legacies left by any government. Over a decade of austerity has left Britain worse off than when the Conservatives took office. Naturally, our first...

Wow. That is some fall….
Sales of Tesla’s electric vehicles plummeted 60% in the UK last month amid a broader slump in European demand, with Chinese rival BYD surging https://t.co/obsffu4LNY

Instead of making the rich pay their fair share of tax, under neoliberal governments since 1979 (Labour and Tory), the ever-growing public services funding gap has been filled by flogging off public assets- school playing fields, council-owned land and facilities, now allotments

The images of Israeli hostages are appalling and expose the barbarity of Hamas. All hostages must be released immediately and unconditionally. Hamas must disarm and end its rule in Gaza. At the same time, large-scale humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach those in need.

In the past, the British public were reluctant to change the voting system. This has shifted dramatically. Now 60% of people want change, including supporters of all major parties. It's time for PR. Watch our event with John Curtice & @UnlockDemocracy: https://t.co/YYYhcZoyIV

This is the one thing I really thought they’d get right, and we don’t even get that much.

@robertcp @NicholasTyrone Sure, I get that. Only a contrarian would dismiss Reform’s electoral chances at the next GE with current polling. Just because it would be unprecedented doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen.

@NicholasTyrone Yes, they *could* win. In the same way that Milliband, Hague and Corbyn *could* have won Let’s see where they are in 3 years eh?

@NicholasTyrone Yes it's curious my contacts who are still in the Tory Party cannot accept the change in political scene & don't yet take ReformUK Party challenge seriously. They mostly still strongly defend FPTP & believe it will prevent any insurgent Party from displacing UKs 2 mainstream ones

Read on here that Reform can't win the next general election because "Farage is Boris all over again but with a nasty streak". But Boris won a huge majority in 2019, so this doesn't work as an explanation. Guys, the polls are telling us Reform is going to win. Take it seriously.

Why should the Welsh Parliament serve England. Tells you everything you need to know about these ultra English nationalist reform types. The SENEDD exists to serve the people of Wales. Our nation! We are a proud and ancient nation and we exist to serve nobody but ourselves!
Scrapping the entire Welsh Assembly would be a positive move for Britain. More politicians, more laws, more waste, more talk, more state. We don’t need any of it. It doesn’t serve Wales, England or Britain. Abolish it.

The Met are having to fact check statements made by highly influential Tory MPs who appear on the BBC and write for newspapers. We’ll see a lot more of this as the Tories tend to 0 seats.
@NJ_Timothy This person was delivering to the hotel, they were not being accommodated there. There is no evidence to suggest they were working illegally. They were were surrounded and intimidated by those gathered outside and officers intervened to make sure they got away safely.
