A few things to reply to from the comments: - Re water quality: the PLA (despite having the powers to do so) have never once prosecuted a water company for illegal sewage discharge. Indeed, they make money from such discharges by charging for the right to discharge water into

A reminder that we cannot have this in London, not only because the Thames is too polluted, but also because we have left the tidal Thames in the sole hands of an unaccountable legacy organisation founded in 1908 called the Port of London Authority (@LondonPortAuth) which
After a $1.6 billion investment and years of hard work, the Seine River, which was once heavily polluted, is now clean enough for swimming for the first time in over a century. The city has also invested in three public swimming locations. 📍 Paris 🇫🇷

I almost choked on my coffee. Emmas Howard Boyd, probably the worst chair of the @EnvAgency ever, and that takes some doing, has had a massive revelation on the road to obscurity and is currently lobbying Steve Reed about sewage sludge containing toxic chemicals, we dump about

The ocean is the planet's largest ecosystem and it plays a critical role in our lives. Yet, humanity is treating the sea like a sewer. Let’s #SaveOurOcean to save our future.

Wish for? We already have it, Martin. I wonder if we could get a tour of one of them, Cwrt Malle Dairy in West Wales. 2000+ head is 365 days indoors for life. Maize / Forage / Glyphosate fed. The current @NFUCymru farming strategy is driving us to more of this. #NotMyChoice

Green MP @elliechowns puts major focus on river pollution by setting up an All Party Parliamentary Group - stating that working cross-party we will see "meaningful action" to restore rivers and seas. 🌊 👍 https://t.co/4AUSz27Q4B

Letter from EA, Ofwat and Defra to Cambridge Water: ‘Your reported deficit reduces our confidence in your ablity to provide a secure supply of water, support planned growth (and) maintain abstraction to levels that will not cause deterioration in the status of water bodies.’
The Greens press release calling for a pause in approval of large developments in Cambs, ‘until there is evidence the water crisis can be resolved’ - this is in response to the annual review of Cambridge Water by the EA and Ofwat.

@Matthew_Wright It's directly because of people like Jeremy Clarkson, that agricultural land values have artificially risen, and as a result, pushed many farmers into the IHT bracket. The idea that he's a champion for farmers, is both ridiculous, and insulting.

Yes I went it the rally, but came here afterwards And the two events back to back are fascinating - like, why aren’t we taxing ultra-processed foods that are killing us and our kids and overwhelming the NHS? Why aren’t we supporting high quality real food producers?

Spot on, James! Let me take you to the silent 🏴 killer (the media have no idea & not interested) in once prime European rivers. Intensive Dairy! I’d love to give “farmer” @JeremyClarkson a tour, but he prioritizes playing with pigs & IHT issues. A taster in 4 photos.
Factory farming is killing the River Wye NOT traditional agriculture It's time to make international corporations like @avara stop the deluge of chicken manure pollution Support @LeighDay_Law legal action and help save our river @SaveTheWye @FriendsUpperWye @RiverActionUK

The moment @MarchforWater entered Parliament Square from Whitehall Being at the v front it was impossible to know what was happening behind us But then to our left we saw marchers still yet to cross Westminster Bridge - over a mile behind us! Over 15,000 flooded the streets

We marched with 1000s of others at the @MarchforWater because The Wye is in failing health. If it was a hospital or school it would be put in ‘special measures’. We call on the government to implement our People’s Plan for the Wye 👉 https://t.co/pWqd9Jb3pl 🧵
