We call for a cross-border regulatory organisation with proper funding and local public representation (not simply industry) with sufficient powers to tackle the problems facing the Wye from the ground up.

For us in the Wye valley, industrial agriculture is responsible for over 70% of the muck in the river. Throughout the UK it is unchecked pollution from intensive agriculture that is responsible more pollution in our rivers than even the ghastly water companies.

Today’s #Cunliffe report calls for “Eight new regional water system planning authorities in England and one national authority in Wales”. A total failure to understand cross-border rivers such as The Wye and how to tackle pollution across a catchment. 🧵
