Firle Beacon, Eric Ravilious, 1927. An early work by Ravilious, it’s very different to his later paintings and depicts the South Downs (@sdnpa) in East #Sussex. The original artwork is in the collection of @AmgueddfaCymru.

'Some can afford rent, but not a 6-month deposit up front.' An ITV News investigation has found that British families who have reasonably well-paid jobs are being forced to live in tents, as they can't afford to rent let alone buy. @DanielHewittITV tells us more.

Great reporting from @MattMcGrathBBC on scary forecast from @metoffice as we humans blunder into a super-heated future. https://t.co/IxBYmVuVlV But remember what modelling can’t tell in detail… and how shocked forecasters were about last year’s 40C. https://t.co/u1eiJRfIwl

I keep being asked what I make of the UFO thing in Congress yesterday, so here it is: I watched a few clips and saw some people who seemed to believe stuff saying extraordinary things without presenting extraordinary evidence. Therefore I have nothing more to say, other than: It

For a solar cell to achieve 30% energy efficiency was once thought nearly impossible. Now with the Perovskite-Silicon combination, surpassing that thought peak has become a reality, as researchers aim for the 35% mark. #RenewableEnergy #Perovskites @HZBDe

Things began to look very unusual two months ago. Today the charts need no commentary, they speak for themselves. This is the Atlantic. https://t.co/P26XnJmKj6

This is so unusual. That's a *huge* amount of energy being transferred to the atmosphere. Expect extreme temperature and storm records. Just the top few metres of our oceans store as much energy as the entirety of our atmosphere. I'm very concerned for later this year into 2024.
