Pre-dating both the Norman Conquest and the church it sits next to by several hundred years, it truly is a remarkable tree.

A total of 23,000 hectares - an area twice the size of Manchester - has been identified as potential new woodland in Sussex and parts of Hampshire.
We're working with partners and landowners to seize this opportunity to create new woodland for nature and climate.

We now have confirmation of breeding otters on the River Meon.
Our wildlife cam picked up this footage of a mother with her two kits.

Cissbury Ring is the second largest hillfort in England.
Although the site has a long history dating back to the Neolithic period (4300 BC - 2000 BC), the hillfort wasn't constructed until the Iron Age, around 400 BC.

Did you know Devil's Dyke is Britain's longest, widest and deepest dry valley?
Unlike many valleys, it wasn't formed by glacial action but instead by a huge volume of water cascading over the Downs as part of the thaw at the end of the last Ice Age.
