The charter in our building takes rooms and resources from the public schools. My school didn’t qualify last year for funding for more teachers to lower class size bc we didn’t have the vacant room space… because the charter took rooms from us a few years back.

There are 5 schools in the building I teach in. One is charter. They have a beautiful music room next to my school’s teachers lounge. My school doesn’t have access to it or the $ for a music program. Instead I + another teacher run an afterschool music club. Cuomo supports this.

but it would be good to have rigorous and charitable debate and discussion about both what Jeremy and I propose in "Plan Z" and the specifics of what Álvaro proposes, which don't actually seem as far off as the erroneous hyper-linking implies. Glad to see his contribution in 9/.

It is unclear, from Álvaro's article if he disagrees with this particular proposal which neither claims 'dual power' of the 1917 type, nor socialism, is "on the agenda". I think his article possibly implies he thinks DSA can do all these tasks, something I'm more skeptical of 8/.

We argue that these various endorsing organizations, with NYC-DSA taking a leading role, should found - with the backing of Zohran - a formal proto-party organization that keeps the coalition together and allows for real collaboration between the bases of these organizations. 7/
