This gained a bit more traction than I expected, so I want to help clear a few things up. First of all, asexuality is the ‘lack of sexual attraction’. Some ace people are sex-repulsed and celibate, whereas others still have sex but for other reasons (to please their partner etc).

Yep, I only recently got diagnosed with autism, but I was tested for pretty much every mental illness imaginable when I was little because of my meltdowns 😢 I spent so much time being terrified and confused about what was going on with me, when really I needed support.

This is literally what happened to me 😂 my Dad spelt my original name wrong on my birth certificate and lied to me about it throughout my entire childhood 😢 I finally changed my name by deed poll about 10 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

If you’re open about being asexual, I find it helps to prevent unwanted sexual attention (and saves a lot of potentially awkward situations). I ‘came out’ about a year ago so it’s still pretty new to me, but it’s nice to find a community of people who understand 😊
