Trading Tucker for a 3rd baseman, RF and Pitcher to then trade for another 3rd baseman, RF and Pitcher and they still are not “better positioned” the cubs also got better just not how people liked, what a dumb take.
The Astros, who traded away Kyle Tucker, are being way more aggressive at the trade deadline and are better positioned for postseason success than the Cubs, who traded for Kyle Tucker. Okay.

The 5th best prospect in one of the worst farm systems is not equivalent to the 5th best prospect in a top 5-10 farm, so this is not the closest parallel.
The reported trade return is a pitching prospect whose closest Cubs org parallel would probably be Jaxon Wiggins. And let me tell you, NO WAY would I have wanted the Cubs to make that swap.

Some day Cubs bloggers and writers will appreciate Tucker. The other way is Matt Shaw and this same guy would have had his pitch forks and torches out calling for Jed’s job if that happened too, it’s ok to enjoy the team, I promise.
It's not that Kyle Tucker wasn't worth, but you do wonder if they could've gotten it done another way. .
