Hamas is now saying Israel has killed 22,000, not 33,000 Gazans -- meaning the combatant to noncombatant ratio in this war is greater than 1:1, which would be a phenomenal, life-saving achievement. Unsurprisingly, legacy media is crickets.

This is the new normal. Reporters get something wrong big time -- over-reporting by 50% +/- the no. of civilian dead and basically buying into the claim Israel is guilty of "genocide." A piece of evidence emerges showing they were wrong. Everyone pretends nothing happened.

When the war is over, there will be investigations and tallies, and we'll learn the IDF killed far fewer people than we've been told, that the ratio of noncombatant-to-combatant deaths was much lower than expected, and legacy media will pretend they never misreported anything.

Liberals: If this were happening in right-wing spaces, you would be livid, and you would be shouting about Kristallnacht and blood libels. But it's happening in your backyard. You can look away and hope for the best, or you can do something about the cancer you've incubated.

If pro-Israel students formed a tent encampment -- and were using anti-Muslim rhetoric, and attracting rabble-rousers from outside the university, and making it hard generally speaking for people to study and lecture and learn -- I'd oppose them being there.

Here's the test. If you're pro-Israel, and students formed a tent encampment in solidarity with Israel, would you support the police forcefully removing them? I think we know the answer. You'd be much more sympathetic to the protesters, because you agree with their cause.

1. Gaza hasn't been occupied since 2005. 2. Gazans aren't toddlers but adults who elected Hamas, a terrorist group, in 2006. 3. You forgot the Jewish hostages, including children, in Gaza. Is that an "atrocity," too? 4. What about the "genocidal language" of Hamas' charter?

You have a rather selective memory for an historian. A few things you forgot: 1. From 1992-1995, Israel, under Yitzhak Rabin, embraced Oslo. There was talk of bullet trains connecting Tel Aviv and Arab capitals. 2. Rabin paid for that w/his life. /1

This is real, palpable progress. Not the make believe progress we hear so often of in "progressive" circles in the U.S., but a seismic shift that would have been unfathomable a few decades ago. It is a testament to the Western idea -- pluralism, liberalism, democracy.
