Great to hear @nathaniel_avery describe his career the way I do mine. "Very lucky, and arse backward into opportunities". Most of my career leaps weren't planned at all, just luck. (Or is it preparation meeting opportunity?).
"Do what you love. Find something that you love, figure out who does the thing that you love, and go there. Or go to a place that does a thing that you love poorly. Go there. See if you can make a difference.” — Nate Avery (@nathaniel_avery) Listen: https://t.co/PvQ1DKqj6I

I'll be very sad if we don't have lots of proposals to review. Please help me not be sad.
ICYMI: the Call for Participation for SREcon23 Asia/Pacific is now available! The conference will take place 14–16 June, 2023 in Singapore. Talk and panel proposals are due on Thursday, 2 March at 23:59 SGT. https://t.co/KHEYbOgIr9

I had a great chat with Gary last week working through some ideas. I highly recommend it.
If you'd like to schedule a time to discuss the challenges you're facing in your organization, need a sounding board, or have something new and insightful to share with me, I'd love to have a conversation. Set up a time here: https://t.co/x1YQEVWpVt

I ran into @billshortenmp in Heathrow once, and he was kind enough to listen to me rant about the good and the bad of NDIS funding, he offered no platitudes, just understanding. I can't think of anyone better to take charge of getting @NDIS back on track.
ScoMo says he is “blessed” to have two non disabled children. Every child is a blessing. The NDIS is there to help people with disability live their lives to the fullest. The Morrison Gov has slashed NDIS plans for 1000s of children around Australia. Labor will fix the NDIS.

My advice is don’t do pull requests, but why is that, and what should you do instead? 🤔 Let's take a look ➡️ https://t.co/gKwM5iRI9F

Followed up with this statement. "At the end of the day people are people" 🤣 I think we all forget that sometimes. #securityedge

Great statement by @assafke at #securityedge today. "Don't hire for cultural fit. Hire for cultural add." #peopleops

I just completed @GRUVERGary's Engineering the Digital Transformation course. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for guidance on changing their org's direction.

Of course. "An easy way to ruin your weeekend plans is to do an upgrade on a Friday night from an old version of composer or Drupal".
@nmdmatt Are you sure drupal, composer, upgrade and easy can be in the same sentence? 😀

Hey @NVIDIASHIELD / @nvidia the new updates to Android TV with the advertising on the home screen mean there is zero chance I'll be buying a new Nvidia Shield or recommending them to anyone ever again. Might want to chat to Google about the impact on your business.

This made me feel unreasonably competitive. I am now thinking about how I can out-procrastinate you, but where will I find 8 dead/dying Retina Macbooks on a Saturday?
I must be procrastinating - I just repaired/revived 4 Retina MacBooks and rewired/reterminated/retested a bunch of network jacks today.

Hilary is a lot kinder than i am, and this is the charitable interpretation. another is that if you’ve convinced yourself that engineering, say, is the only thing that matters and marketing is useless you don’t actually understand how things work but haven’t realized that yet.
Gave this advice today and wanted to repeat it here. If you think an entire job function (marketing, HR, engineering managers, etc.) is useless, you've most likely never seen it done well. The company you work at now is not what good looks like. Go out and find excellence.

Yet again your reminder that there's no such things as responsible/irresponsible disclosure. https://t.co/BNSbq7je4S

I guess @KinokuniyaAust doesn't mind me buying hundreds of dollars worth of books on Amazon instead. Strange business model indeed.
hey @KinokuniyaAust I want to give you money but someone has configured your website to deny browsers on Linux. Please talk with your web team about fixing that. If you need help my daily rate is quite reasonable :D

Because you need a quantum computer to understand your AWS bill. They created a need, and now they are fulfilling that need. #sellmethispen

Hey @TNTMediaHub the reason I have stuff delivered is because I don't own a car. Redirecting to a "convenient" collection point 5 suburbs away is not helpful.
