This is another example of a working class corset that was marketed specifically to house maids. Notice the extensive use of flexible cording over boning and strong coutil in a drab color that would hold up to the sweats and stains of hard labor.
Haven’t been able to stop thinking about this corset I saw at The Corsetry Symposium last month. It’s so striking, not just because it’s a corset that uses flexible cording instead of boning for structure, but also because it’s clearly well-used and frequently repaired.

Produced seed to sew means they grew the cotton, knit it, dyed it, sewed it and embroidered it all under one roof (figuratively speaking). In Turkey, so this is organic Turkish cotton produced sustainably. Higher prices aren't always arbitrary!
