Hot take: I think it's silly when grown men cry when their pets die. I love my dog, but I'm not going to cry when she dies. I've had to put down a few pets. I respect/appreciate them, but they're not humans. They're not my children. Women and children can cry. That's okay.

The “barking dog” is the PTU (power transfer unit) of the A320 hydraulic system. It operates when there’s a pressure differential between two systems and is a completely normal operation. Nothing new, started on the first A320 to roll off the assembly line.

I’ll take my children out of school whenever I would like for whatever reason I would like. You won’t ever get a reason from me either. The audacity that some of these idiots have is mind numbing.
It’s 2025 and I actually have parents trying to defend pulling their child out of school for a vacation. I get a death. I get granny is turning 100 and lives out of state. But to get a cheaper vacation- nope. Can’t ever support that.

A previous employer of mine had to relocate the hotel that they overnighted crew at in Portland due to the substantial danger to crew member safety. Portland is incredibly dangerous, this shouldn’t be a partisan issue.
