Woody was one of my favorite people at the ballpark. I loved talking about music with him. LOVED it. I ran into his booth mid-commercial break all the time when I heard a great song. And I'm convinced sometimes he played a few bars of Oasis just for me. Rest in Peace, my friend.

It was an absolute privilege to be a fly on the wall for @OU_Softball, @TexasTechSB and the other amazing programs at the WCWS, and I thank them for sharing their stories with us. I can't wait to kick back and be a fan for this week's champ series. It's going to be epic.

I'm so heartened by everyone who's reached out to share their love of college softball. It's just about impossible to watch this sport and not be all-in. The energy and investment behind softball are real, and they're only going to grow from here.

As always, I think year-end lists before the year actually ends are dumb. So here is my annual Top Whatever of the Year. 24 songs in a few different categories. Most-listened-to album of the year, by far: the "Challengers" soundtrack, by the kings Trent & Atticus.

An enormous loss for our basketball world and beyond. I don’t think I’ve ever met a coach who possessed such an amazing combination of confidence and humility. Amir was simply one of the best. Sending love to his family and friends.
