Exciting news, we will soon be launching a follow-up study to take part in. It’s an opportunity to collect important information on the effects of HG 12-18months after having your baby. #hyperemesisgravidarum #maternalresearch #pregnancysickness

#teamCMidO will join many during this awareness week, a week of memories that transcend every week of the year. Early pregnancy assessment&maternity services working hard to improve outcomes but much more to do. Recent funding for bereavement services will help, but more to do

Hyperemesis Gravidarum remains the leading cause of hospitalization in early pregnancy and is second only to preterm labor as the most common cause overall during pregnancy (ACOG, 2018). Total incidence of HG is undetermined but estimated at 2-10% (Zhang, 1991; Czeizel, 2003).

Patient-led research finds genetic cause of potentially fatal human disease. If it wasn’t for @DrFejzo who herself lost a baby to #HyperemesisGravidarum, funded by @HGmoms we still wouldn’t know. No scientists or funders without lived experience were interested enough to find out
