At the ICHG Conference which is still ongoing, I’ve learned that Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) isn’t caused by elevated hCG levels, but by GDF15 (Growth Differentiation Factor 15), a placental protein that plays a key role in triggering the severe nausea and vomiting seen in HG.
