It's never too late to learn something and never too eat to share knowledge with others. My 11yo is getting more into Python so I decided to do (separately) the same intro Udacity course and be a study buddy. And something interesting happened. A thread. (1/N)

N/N And *that* to me is the three steps to successful learning 1. Build something (document, experiment, iterate) 2. Extend it to do something more (be creative, efficient) 3. Teach someone else what you do (clarify your thinking, inspire someone else) The journey continues!

Made a very spontaneous decision today. If it works out, I'll have something to celebrate .. If it doesn't, I'll have still taken that first step .. Sometimes it's all about that leap of faith - amirite? 🎉

Snow day 😭 = 10yo dispensing wisdom at home in bursts. Me: Iron Man is terrible. He does not obey the laws of physics. How can you create matter out of nothing? Makes no sense. Him: Physics is the door. But imagination is the key to the universe. Me: 😭😭😭😭

I am inspired by @TaelurAlexis right now. It is *super hard* to stream, work and narrate the same time - it requires focus. You have to read, absorb and convey information on the fly. I need motivation to finish some overdue courses. Maybe this is my habit 'bundling'!

4/N At which point he suddenly took an interest in MY progress. I made it a point to tell him I had never done the course before. (True - I've used Python as-needed and learned it as I learned everything else, by examples and application) He decided he needed to be my coach 😄

Decluttering my home this long weekend. Been nearly a year since we moved and I still haven't had time to unpack and organize things. It's time for change. #selfcare

Today I realized that some of the most significant moments in my life came out of a simple fact. Someone told me ‘you can’t do this .. maybe it’s not for you’ “O Really” Was that superpower that snapped me out of bad times Drove me Never underestimate the strength of your will

A #selfcare milestone .. this marks #50days of keeping to a habit of 45-60 minutes of walks of 2-3 miles each day. And results are showing. Stress levels down and finding a lot more joy in simple things. Sunshine, the natural beauty of #HudsonValley .. and good 🎶🎶 helped ♥️

2/N It started weeks ago. We realized schools were not going to have any meaningful routines & wanted to give him something with a target and achievement, that would promote self-study and learning I pointed him to @udacity "Intro to Python Programming"

Being OFF twitter boosts productivity Being ON twitter builds community Toggling constantly builds .. fatigue Respect to all the #DevRel folks who solved this paradox - because I personally find it hard to do. How do you all manage this? Twitter lists? Scheduled tweets? Alerts?

Trying to get into the habit of leaving a margin free of content at the bottom of all slides to accommodate live caption overlays. Seems to be a preferred location for automated captioning too - it's a good thing! #AccessibilityFirst

#GratefulFor my family today ♥️♥️. I am not perfect but I try to learn from every mistake. It helps when you have people who love you unconditionally. Today my 10yo and dad surprised me with a bday cake. That unfurling candle? They remembered me chuckling at it on Twitter ...
