Today, the dry spell of not finishing paintings breaks, & it ends with St Therese of Liseaux. She died at 24, and since I turned 24, I’ve prayed her miraculous prayer almost every day for her help. Tomorrow I turn 25, so this is my tiny thanks for her “Little Way”. 1/2
Say what you will about Catholic Twitter, but being able to chat and read about Catholic things while living in a place zero 20 something Catholics I can be friends with is genuinely helpful.
this seems weird but while Christianity seems widespread, actual literacy in Christian and more specifically Catholic traditions, practices, and doctrine, is starkly deficient in society.
it shows in things like this
@geraldstratfor3
Hey man, I’m sorry for your loss. Me and my family had a farm dog a few years back who was always at our side doing work on the farm. 4 years later, we still miss the crap out of the lil guy
Animal friends really do have a special place in our hearts

You can’t theologically justify abortion in the Catholic Church. I encourage you not only to learn doctrine, but also the reasoning behind all church doctrine to include the metaphysics. Please learn it all and try and disprove it form an educated standpoint.
@HippieReligious
You really seem to like a lot of blanket statements. So should my parents tiny rural parish of farmers of about 100 families have dress codes posted?? Maybe not. Also, they’re farmers.
You can just say you like dress codes, not blanket statements.
emailing my gf from my military email with the subject "v secret military info" and body of:
i have a crush on you

In two hours I turn 25, and so thank you St Therese for your guardianship and friendship. For a year half over, it’s been extremely challenging, and I’m glad you’ve been here with me. (2/2)
Southern Belgium is deep Europe. No English spoken. No one is rich but no one is in poverty. No clue what anyone does for a living. The sky is grey. Weird national and linguistic issues.
Currently in the back room of an Urban Outfitters while the Mall of America is on lockdown because of an active shooter
We all good and dandy but I have to pee really bad
Drop a prayer for anyone that was hurt 🙏🏻
A happy late feast day of St Therese of Liseaux! 🔥❤️🔥🙏🏻
In a world obsessed with being bigger and emphasizing the self, may we be reminded that true joy is found outside of the self.
The most mature relationship is love that gives without counting. Irrational love where the self never exists, only giving to the other.
Whimsical love, sacrificial love, loyal love, spellbound love, adventurous love, loving love.
Do not let this cold world take life from you.
“The Angelus"
Acrylic on Canvas
30” x 24”
Commissioned as a “Minnesota” version of the Millet’s famous “L’Angelus”, I used only Minnesota landscape references I personally photographed. In addition, the two figures are from a modeling photoshoot that I set up took as well.
As my gf & I were leaving Mass, an arrogant father was demanding that the security guard let them in, and asked why people were allowed inside and he wasn’t.
He was so loud and in our way, and even my not-cath gf sternly told him as we passed, “excuse me, we were here for Mass”.
Went to Mass at Florence’s Cathedral, and was very pleased to find that on sundays they had Mass every other hour, and that there were no Sunday tours. Security waited outside and only admitted people for Mass. what a refreshing experience.
My landlords elderly father lives next door and takes care of maintenance. He doesn’t speak any English, I know only some French words and phrases, but we talk anyways. He learned I have an old car I love, and today he came and knocked on my door to show me his antique Citroen
@kendrictonn
I live in Belgium on the border of France and the French are truly their stereotype
Ordered a croissant only to be corrected at how I said croissant despite ordering entirely in French 😂
It’s official: good bye South Korea. Thank you for being my home for 2022. I never expected to live in Asia in my lifetime, and it challenged me and changed me. Wonder is such a precious thing.
Seeing fam for Christmas, and then it’s time for Belgium!
Reposting my painting of “The Angelus” as my painting routines are finally reborn, and recovering from the brutality of my military career.
This painting was a very meaningful turning point in painting for me, and I’m so grateful to God for letting me live moments like these.
Do I quit this website now that this post topped out? Like I feel like I beat the final boss of a video game or something and now I’m sitting at the main menu like “damn that was cool but I guess the only thing left to do is hit the quit button”
Nearly two years later, I am still so very proud of this commission, “The Angelus”. The family who commissioned it were so sweet and made the whole experience truly one to remember.
NICK LIFE NEWS
Just got word that at the end of the year I’m moving from South Korea to… BELGIUM!
This will be my third move in 2 years, so the most wonderful news is that I’ll be able to settle down for a few years 😊
got an odd response to my inquiry on an FB marketplace post:
“Ok, that’ll work! What is vehicle model and license plate? I have to notify the guards.”
Friend, my quest for a €30 Instant Pot brought me to the residential compound of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
and PSA, this is what an actual farm looks like. (my photos)
they aren't twee, they're just big industrial operations and they're why a loaf of bread is $2 at the supermarket
the idyllic rural homestead is a fantasy which doesn't exist and never has

Fulton Sheen opens the "Life of Christ" stating that if Satan came to Earth, he would fool everyone as the best philanthropist. And yet, somehow, despite all the "good" he does like donating to the poor and so on, the fruits of it are chaos. Real evil is no accident.
@livepixelart
This is my shot 😅 I’m a traditional oil and acrylic painter
I’m not creative enough for pixel lol it’s so fun though maybe I’ll post sometime in pixel it’d be cool
Had a work Christmas party here at one of the NATO command headquarters
I made the Minnesotan classic for the potluck: the tater tot hotdish. And I am proud to say that French and Italian officers came to ask me for my recipe.

But then, your mother came, & then you… I realized fortune had nothing to do with it.
I had to prove myself worthy of you, Sunja.”
