Many of our Gynae Elective Care waiting times across the region are currently short. Funding was recently increased back to 100% for this great service so we have more capacity to see patients quickly. GPs can refer locally, list on our website: https://t.co/Io7IQNw4Yn

Over 75k patients have been seen in GP Elective Care since it's establishment 7 years ago. This is a testament to the hard work & dedication of our specialist teams working in primary care. With recurrent funding across most services we look forward to building on this success.

Y'day I performed the first Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) excision under the @ni_gpecs BCC pathway. This pilot, in collab with @setrust & @NHSCTrust allows some GPs to remove low-risk BCCs in primary care, easing secondary care pressures. A milestone for GP-led derm care @healthdpt

I spent a morning with @ni_gpecs learning some skills in community surgery. >8000 vasectomies completed in a few years. Definitely a quality team and great service for patients languishing on waiting lists. What next? Carpal tunnel? Investment in GP led services required!

Well done to our clinical lead for Vasectomy Dr Joe Devlin. A superb example of how a service that was historically delivered in secondary care can be delivered more efficiently, more cost effective and more convenient for patients in primary care.

Since Nov 18 over 65,000 patients have been seen for a range of non complex elective procedures in our service. These figures are symbolic of the successful role primary care can play in supporting transformation. Delivering cost effective local solutions to waiting lists.
