Good to see Sinn Fรฉin u-turning acknowledging the leadership of the SDLP on this important matter. We have had the proper approach along the way.
Am pleased to say our motion on Lough Neagh passed. I welcome Sinn Fรฉin's uturn on their own indefensible previous vote, and the SDLP looks forward to working with Minister Muir to make further progress. When we said a constructive opposition would have an impact, we meant it.

Can our Executive simply deliver on these six key areas.... we've set the bar let's see how far they miss it by....
The Executive is not just failing, it appears comatose and the public deserve so much better. It doesnโt have to be like this. As a constructive Opposition we will hold the Executive accountable for making good on the promises they made to the people.

As the constructive opposition to Stormont, @SDLPlive has brought forward a thoughtful, realistic plan to levy high profits and save Lough Neagh, which I discussed on Talkback. What we have isnโt working, but it doesnโt have to be this way. SDLP are building for something better

Says an elected rep who isn't fit to tie the shoelaces of our President... "President of Ireland a โnasty little manโ says DUP councillor"

The DUP have voted against a thank you letter to Michael D Higgins calling him a nasty little man amid anger of NI centenary snub in Armagh v.1

Fairly clear the Executive doesn't have a coherent plan, so as a constructive opposition the SDLP will offer one. Action is needed now! Not warm words! ๐ข๐ #Plan #Action #Words @SDLPlive

Sad news coming in today from Newcastle. Thoughts and prayers with the family. Limited info at moment - If anyone has any info please update police. @SDLPlive @LauraDevlinSDLP
Our detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in the Slievenabrock Avenue of Newcastle. DCI Foreman said: "People will see our officers in and around the area today โ with cordons in place" Read more here : https://t.co/pJ22Xk9Jqp

Minister Muir is right: SF and the DUP have cynically blocked necessary action on Lough Neagh. But it begs the question: why Alliance ministers did not demand clear guarantees on policy, especially the environment and Stormont reform, as a condition of entering the Executive?
Andrew Muir has urged his Executive colleagues to back him in making some "very big decisions" to tackle the blue-green algae issue at Lough Neagh. https://t.co/KUrT112dWz

Important meeting today with SOAS to discuss emergency surgery in SWAH. Feels like rural communities are being left behind. No shock there from this Executive! @SDLPlive @CllrAdamGannon

Thanks to @SOASsaveourswah for meeting with @MatthewOToole2, @ColinSDLP, and myself (I'm one of the tiny squares on the laptop there!). The roadmap is a really positive plan for SWAH & the crossborder aspect is vital to our hospital ๐จ

80 years ago, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were devastated by the first atomic bombs used in war; a stain in human history. Let this serve as a reminder of the horror, depravity and consequence of war, and why we need nuclear disarmament ๐๏ธ #HiroshimaDay #Peace #nucleardisarmament

Five years ago today, John Hume passed away, but the principles he lived by feel more urgent than ever. He taught us that peace isnโt just the absence of war. Itโs built on rights and in seeing the humanity in others.

Too many bereaved parents in NI face heartbreak and a lack of support. The @SandsUK report shows half couldnโt access the mental health help they needed. Iโve asked the Health Minister for urgent action. No one should grieve alone. #BabyLoss #MentalHealth

Arts funding allocation in Northern Ireland has just hit an 8-year low. Our artists and creative workers deserve better. An SDLP motion has now passed, calling for a fully funded, long-term plan to support the arts by October 2025. The SDLP will always stand with our artists.
