More detail; last year Detroit 3 auto workers received over $10K in year-end profit sharing checks. Now Trump tariffs are crushing profits, so checks at end of ‘25 will be slashed. Current estimates:.~Ford: down 27 to 36%.~GM: down 31 to 40%.~ Chrysler/Ram: likely Zero. MAGA!.

Tariff Tales: on Friday I bought a used Leica camera online from a seller in Switzerland, who just emailed to say that since camera will hit US after 8/7, I’ll have to pay Trump’s “I hate Switzerland” tariff/tax of 39% (over $1K!) which kills the economics of the deal. #SoStupid.
