One thing I wish Twitter had: a direct option for reporting accounts that post pirated media. And then a drone that would arrive at the houses of those reported to blow them up.

THE FANTASTIC ADVENTURES OF ADAM ANT (Tops, 1982): There had been several pop star comic strips, but none as brilliant as this, starring the Dandy Highwayman himself. Plucked from an Ants gig to travel through time, Adam fights the likes of Cerberus and, yes, Satan himself!

In January 1919 a new magazine heralded the dawn of the Weimar era. Its aesthetic was a kind of demented Jugendstil, and its stories were dark gothic fantasies. This is the story of Der Orchideengarten...

Keir Starmer would never admit it, but he has the power to fix many of the UK's deep-rooted economic and social problems. Instead, he will impose renewed austerity on those least able to bear it. Not because he has to, but because he wants to. https://t.co/fJer4IbbuX

Despite what Keir Starmer claims, there's nothing inevitable about another round of harsh cuts — it is a deliberate decision to avoid confronting the powerful.

Less than 24 hours after @YvetteCooperMP said she’ll ramp up raids, we’ve seen a guy on the train from Stockport to Manchester in full cosplay police gear with stab vest, handcuffs, wire and ‘UK Civil Defence’ badges asking all the brown men in his carriage where they’re going

It’s the same staff! There’s no separate private healthcare workforce that’s just standing around waiting to be deployed to ‘help’- it’s nhs consultants and surgeons that just moonlight for the private sector. Very easy set of questions to put to him, surely

hello everyone Next Friday (5th April), I will be at @HousmansBooks, talking to Jon (@TheLitCritGuy) about their wonderful little book about utopia and Ernst Bloch. Join us for an evening of conversation, and perhaps enact some real existing utopia at the pub afterwards.
