humble proposal -- if you fill out a 75 page SF-86 and the government investigates your background and interviews your friends and ultimately grants you a clearance allowing for access to classified information. that should probably just come with TSA pre-check and global entry.

Many will never truly understand how challenging it is to reach this point. Armchair quarterback’s will respond with “it’s easy” or “you’re weak for letting it ruin you” or even “you should show more self control”. To those I say this, alcohol is addicting. Alcoholism is real.
