"Instead of using Harris’s biography as a way to dismiss her family-friendly bona fides, we should be looking at her record. By that measure, Harris could be one of the most pro-family candidates we’ve had in recent memory." -Jessica Grose in @NYTopinion

"Curious about what kind of candidate she’ll be? Her dismantling of Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his confirmation hearing is worth a rewatch." Great read by @MonicaHesse in @WashingtonPost

Curious about what kind of candidate she’ll be? Kamala Harris’s dismantling of Supreme Court justice nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh six years ago is worth a rewatch.

Anglers used to dismiss it as a “trash fish.” Now fishermen (and scientists) are recognizing the gar for the amazing creature it is.

Interesting read! I'm lucky to have interviewed several recent Pritzker Laureates while working for @ArchRecord, including Francis Kere (the kindest man), the Grafton duo (brilliant & funny), and Doshi (DOSHI!!). This year does feel like a shift from trends of the last ~decade.
David Chipperfield’s selection represents a surprisingly conservative turn for the Pritzkers. @mcmansionhell writes about whether his selection is emblematic of a political climate pushing back against the progressive social movements of the 2010s

The American people desperately need high-quality journalism, and journalists and newspaper staff need a fair contract. I urge the ownership of the New York Times to bargain in good faith with @NYTimesGuild, and pay their workers what they deserve.

Taylor Swift should offer a paid livestream of her concert from some awesome venue, for the zillions of us who couldn’t get tickets. I’d shell out for that!! @taylorswift13 @treepaine @Ticketmaster #TaylorSwift #ErasTour

However, Texas needs greater investment in organizing for voter registration and turnout. In this cycle, 9.6 million registered Texans did not vote (a record!) and another 1.4 million are eligible but not registered. That’s 11 million Texans who are sitting on the sidelines.

A note about Texas after Tuesday’s results. @BetoORourke deserves a lot of gratitude for inspiring and activating Democrats across the state. He has now twice planted the seeds of future victory.

State lawmakers in Texas have ensured that actual Texans' opinions don't matter. 30 million people in the state and its future is decided by the whitest, richest 3 percent of voters. Seems wrong, no? An important read from @TexasMonthly. https://t.co/RJQftRYbal
