A new method reported in Science allows the generation of 3D ultrasound images of gene expression and 2D ultrasound images of capillary vessels. The approach enables fast, deep, and volumetric imaging of living opaque organs labeled with echogenic reporters. Learn more in this

Just in time for ๐. Using #gasvesicles as an acoustic pressure ruler! ๐๐ Fun collaboration with @MichaelKolios lab. Congrats Eric Strohm, @di_wu_ @torohitnayak and Dina Malounda.
In another paper with @mikhailshapiro, we use gas vesicles to estimate very high-frequency ultrasound pressure (>80MHz), which we could not do before. We find the voltage input to the transducer at which they collapse GVs, creating "black holes." More๐.
