Product/company tools we're using @firmhouse for day-to-day stuff that could fit in one tweet. (Probably) most used first: - @linear - @SlackHQ - @intercom - @github - Google Apps (email, calendar) - @basecamp - @heroku - @NotionHQ - @AppSignal - @CircleCI - @pingdom

If anything, human QA becomes even more important in an LLM coded world. Probably the job will move up a level to product experience: humans ensuring “does this feel good?” Call it Taste Assurance

If everybody becomes a 10x engineer because of AI that’s just the new baseline. To be an outlier will require more than quantity of output, it will require 10x impact. That’s a big difference.

It used to be controversial to state that there exist 10x engineers. People would get all worked up. I have news for you. AI has created 100x, possibly 1000x engineers. Time to update those hiring plans.

Two competing thoughts here: 1. Agree than unlimited product YOLO is not ideal. I’ve kept @chatprd artificially constrained (me + a couple Eng) because it forces us to focus on what matters. Lots of things we could do we don’t do yet, or don’t do because not enough customers

Dropped the phrase "product slop" today in a call — when teams can ship so much more at 100x the speed, the risk of bloated, feature-dense but unfocused experiences quickly becomes a concern. "More things faster" is rarely a recipe for excellence. When it takes weeks to ship,

.@devinai now literally lives in our virtual office. Sessions spawn new agent avatars, and get desks or a place in a meeting room (or on our tropical vacation island for that matter). This is THE way for me to solve the "multiple agents" problem and to keep track of everything.

Hire out of pain. Don't hire because you think you'll need someone soon or maybe sometime later. Wait until you or your team are actually hurting: working weekends, missing family dinners, dropping balls. That pain is the signal that the role is real. I learned this the hard way

typing / speaking is so much faster than clicking around in windows and UIs. With Devin and Linear Agent, Slack has become my UI to most things I do every day.

Yes this. Why waste all that time on writing a major prompt or plan up front?

@GergelyOrosz @steipete I don’t understand this. Everyone keeps saying “share your prompt” or “tag PR w prompt” but are people not having full on thread/convos w agents on features? I ship nothing one shot. We need conversational code provenance, but no one will read it imo

Absoutely not true. I'm still doing "founder led sales" at our stage, and will be until the day Sentry no longer exists or I'm no longer part of it. The concept is simple, and is effectively just talking to your customers, figuring out whats wrong, and bringing that full circle.

"Founder-led sales" is one of the biggest stupidities the world came up with. I keep seeing technical/product founders doing sales because their investors tell them "a founder needs to do sales in the beginning". Would you ask a non-tech founder to do coding and call it "Founder

Using the crap out of @DevinAI playblooks today to build our new docs site over the weekend. I especially like the "Improve" feature that can take a look at a Devin session and use that to improve a playbook that was already there. I now have !docsconversion macro tied to a

Have you ever tried to cook eggs in stainless-steel? It can be a disaster. You need to understand the Leidenfrost effect if you want to avoid a mess. This is a really cool demonstration and explanation. Source: letseat_uk (IG)

This year (probably closer to next 3 months) I think programmers should not see themselves as programmers anymore. Not even the kind that uses AI agents to “generate code” - that’s still programming, that’s still thinking your job is to “build stuff with characters on a screen”.

Next two weeks want to solve the “parallizing yourself for agents”. Either by practicing (pick up StarCraft again?) or by creating a layer around Linear to solve the “agent management” problem. So far existing views and tools have been unable to do that for me.

A new year has a way of making this obvious. Comfort feels good. It also has a ceiling. Discomfort isn’t the enemy. Complacency is. Here’s to a year of building, even when it feels uncomfortable.
