This misses the key reason why cost rental is dearer in Dublin than Vienna. In Dublin CR is 100% funded by debt & rents must cover this cost. In Vienna landlords pay 10-20% of costs from their reserves & tenants pay deposits of 0-10% so less debt is needed & rents can be lower.
A new cost-rental apartment in Vienna is going for €681 a month. Why’s it more than double that in Dublin, and what can be done to bring it down?

Sarah Carey is right. Its astonishing that, despite our history of forced incircaration of women in mother & baby homes & forced adoption (sometimes sale) of their babies, Irish politicans & journalis ignore the risks of exploitaton of poor women interent in commercial surrogacy.
Excellent question from Sarah Carey: "Why does our media obsess about forced adoption in poor times long ago and ignore commercial surrogacy in poor countries today?"
