Most schools are now back. How many staff and students see their school has a #YesUCan culture? @bphillipsonMP #edutwitter

Interesting how this school had pilot and now volunteered for early inspection. Is that a common pattern? Wonder how much diversity of thought goes into @Ofstednews thinking, preparing and consulting ? Does @matthewsyed have any insights ?

These behaviours seem to be well received and are a consequence of #YesUCan 12 principles. The 3 relevant principles here are Brain plasticity- build the path Better today than yesterday Believe to Achieve
@Miss_S_Gibbons Top 3 for me: 1 They know they are responsible for their achievements. Improvement requires their effort 2 Set the expectation of improving every day. Small steps will get to a big jump by next May 3 Let them know you believe they can improve. Get them to believe in themselves.

#today @BBCr4today The separate science discussion. Suggest you consider it’s a correlation effect not a causation on future outcomes. And @bphillipsonMP One off formal testing (for reading) does not enhance progress. “Weighing a pig every day doesn’t speed its weight gain”.

Dear @bphillipsonMP You seem to be proud to be going round in circles. Where is your priority: @educationgovuk or self? Education needs 100% focus. It’s not a part time activity. Your latest initiatives seem to reflect part time thinking though. #edutwitter @branwenjeffreys

Dear @Keir_Starmer @bphillipsonMP Yet another motherhood and pie message.Retaining teachers is where your priority should lie. With CPD the good ECT will be even better after 5 years and even more after 10 years. What are you doing to reduce loss to the profession? #edutwitter

This from @MrMetacognition reminded me of the @CharteredColl article that discusses mathematics “journey” . https://t.co/jlSCpqrphT

As a teacher of mathematics, I heard many conversations about whether GCSE is a two- or three-year programme of study and in what order we should teach the various interconnected topics in mathemat...
@Maths4ukplc Absolutely! My key points on seeing primary are around: 1) systems (and how they vary hugely in primary) 2) curriculum flow (that learning doesn't start at KS3, and a lot came before it).

Dear @bphillipsonMP “you can take a horse to water but you can’t make it drink”. I’d suggest that non attendance by a child is a consequence of seeing no purpose as they have a lack of belief in being able to learn . Does your plan transform mindsets? @tombennett71 @BBCr4today
This back-to-school season, we're driving up attendance through our Plan for Change. Missing school impacts future earnings - but we're turning the tide with 5 million more days in the classroom last year. Find out more about how we're improving attendance:

Agree, if “best job “ means most opportunities to influence most people. Imagine if everyone believed they could be better at something today than they were yesterday. #ECT

True for taking examinations. Put the proper practise in and be prepared to rise to challenging questions.
The team that wins the process wins the game. In other words, successful teams work the hardest during the offseason, prepare the best during the week, and execute the best during the game.

KS2 SAT’s in England today. How many teachers and parents will have a “growth “ conversation with the children? Stressing high attainment due to their effort and not guaranteed or lower attainment can be improved. Nothing is static or fixed #LabelsAreForJamJars @jpembroke
