We lost a great scientist, mentor, and visionary. May Atul rest gracefully while his enduring legacy relentlessly lives on.
Atul Butte died yesterday. The world lost a giant. A big bear of a man. With a huge smile. With love for everyone. With energy that could power a room. I loved everything about Atul. I loved how he was always happy. I loved how excited he was about science and helping people.

Important data that we have clinically suspected all along: CKD and DM are associated with *asymptomatic/silent* AF. HF was not. Why are we learning about this now? Because most of the clinical risk scores we know and (don't) love were developed with AF as a claims data outcome.

Regarding the #WAFib2025 debate on blanking periods:.In a 2024 consensus paper on design and endpoints for AF ablation trials led by Thorsten Lewalter and Johannes Brachmann along with many experts, we've already recommended to forego a blanking period for clinical endpoints. We
